District 10 Update, 7 June, 2018

District 10 Newsflash
Brought to you by Clayton Perry, District 10

June 7, 2018

Howdy Neighbors,

North East Independent School District recently announced that they will be implementing a new clear backpack rule for High School and Middle School children for Fall 2018. Elementary School students will still be permitted to use traditional backpacks. Students will also still be allowed to use band and athletic bags, purses and lunch bags.  To keep in line with this rule, we will purchase both clear and traditional backpacks to be given away during our back to school event.

Summer school will be held at Roosevelt High School, Ed White Middle School, and Driscoll Middle School. It is important to note that school zones will be in effect for those three schools throughout the summer.

SAWS has announced that Stage 1 water restrictions are in place. Watering with an irrigation system is only allowed once a week before 11 a.m. or after 7 p.m. and is determined by the last digit of your address. The schedule is as follows: Addresses ending in a 0 or 1 can water on Monday, 2 or 3 on Tuesday, 4 or 5 on Wednesday, 6 or 7 on Thursday, 8 or 9 on Friday. Hand watering is allowed at any time. For more information, click here.

We will be hosting a community meeting on Monday, June 18th, at 7:00 at the Tool Yard. We will be joined there Solid Waste Management, The San Antonio Food Bank, and Mr. Doug Thomas who will present on the Texas Lions Camp.

Make sure you go through this entire newsflash! You might just find out how to win $10,000.

As always, thank you for being active community members and leaders here in District 10, and do not hesitate to contact our office if we can be of any assistance to you.

- Clayton
