Howdy Neighbors,

Big thank you to everyone who attended our virtual FY 2021 Budget Town Hall with City Manager Erik Walsh. Your input is vital as the City finalizes our budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The FY 2021 Proposed Operating & Capital Budget was presented to City Council on August 6. The condensed budget presentation is available here, and the FY 2021 Proposed Operating & Capital Budget document can be found and downloaded here. The FY 2021 Proposed Operating & Capital Budget contains some big wins for 10! To take a look at what is proposed for 10, click here. The budget will be presented for approval on September 17.

The Northeast Neighborhood Alliance is hosting a virtual Candidates' Forum on Monday, September 21 at 7 PM. The purpose of this event is to learn more about the individuals listed on the November election ballot and what their goals are if they win the election. Due to time constraints, this forum has been limited to the following six candidates: US Representative District 21 (Wendy Davis and Chip Roy), State Representative District 121 (Celina Montoya and Steve Allison), and Bexar County Commissioner Precinct 3 (Christine Hortick and Trish DeBerry). The meeting will be divided into 20 minute sessions for each race. Candidates will be given time to review their qualifications and explain why they are seeking office. The NNA will then take questions from those participating in this virtual meeting. Instructions on how to participate in next month's meeting can be found below. If you are unable to watch live, we will post the recording to our Facebook page following the meeting. Thank you all for standing by us as we figure out how to stay connected during this time.

The District 10 Office will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observation of Labor Day. We look forward to assisting you after the holiday and hope that y'all enjoy your long weekend. Happy Labor Day!

As always, thank you for being active community members and leaders here in District 10. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if we can be of any assistance to you. The District 10 team is still on hand and available to address your needs and concerns throughout this time.

- Clayton

District 10 Face Masks

We had the absolute pleasure of stopping by Blessed Angels Community Center this week to hand deliver 400 District 10 face masks ðŸ˜· We know these are in high demand, and we still have 100 face masks at our field office that we'd love to give them away to our D10 Neighbors. Sign up for your mask here.

*Must be a D10 neighbor to qualify, limit 1 per person.

Community Spotlight

The El Dorado Community Garden is in full swing! July was a busy month for El Dorado Community Garden. They received pallet donations from another District 10 Neighbor, High Country Community Garden, and their watermelons are ready and producing more and more! They have generously been sharing the produce with neighbors and volunteers. At the moment they are preparing the compost area for their new compost section. We can't wait to see how much you all grow.

Thank you to the Green Spaces Alliance for sharing this update!
